i know it’s been a long time since we’ve updated. it has seemed to take us a while to get back in the swing of things after christmas. we hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season.
christmas morning was fun. jovie seemed to be excited for santa, because she woke up at 7am. (which hadn’t happened in a while!) [altho it seems to be happening more now. maybe she thinks santa is coming every day??]
she had fun with her “seat!” that santa brought. he also brought her bristle blocks. remember those??
jovie enjoyed all the gifts, but didn’t quite know what to do about opening them. and truthfully, all the trash on the floor was a lot more fun. she preferred my opening them so she could play with the boxes of all the goodies she got—- (thanks, gramma & grampa!!)
luckily, christmas was a typical cold & sunny day in GA. so we all braved outside with a walk & spent the rest of the day playing with our new toys. she also enjoyed sitting in grampa’s lap.
we had a turkey dinner & boy did she love the sweet potato souffle (my sis’ recipe. yummy!).
the next day, we all packed up (the whole house, it seemed like…. except said souffle which i was supposed to bring to my fam’s christmas. OOPS) & headed to gramma & grampa’s house. that was the first day of many challenges to come….. lots of traveling back and forth and visiting with MANY MANY new people!
she handled everything well. my fam’s christmas is huge (as you might imagine), and i knew once we got in and settled, she’d love all the kids/babies that were around. she had a lotta fun crawling all over the joint & talking up a storm to a select few. —i never knew there were so many “muh-keys” around!
back & forth travel from ATL to g’ville to columbia & meeting up with new people each and every day certainly took it’s toll on all of us. she did handle things well for the most part. but by the end we were all just ready to be home & try to have a normal routine again. (which so far is alluding us)
so here’s hoping everyone has a wonderful 2010! (and that things get back to normal again soon). Happy New Year!
