i guess it’s been a few weeks since i’ve posted. the transition to the big girl’s bed has been going very smoothly. a week after we posted, we decided to take down the bedrail because, really, it’s not that far to fall. (incidentally, she’s fallen out once. during nap. while The Mr. was home with her and I was out. didn’t seem to scare her too terribly bad…. she went back to sleep for a bit!)
plus the rail was too big for the bed; she may as well have still been in her crib. we will save the rail for when she gets into my old bed, which jovie likes to say “when i’m older…. i can sleep in mommy’s old bed”. (jovie tells me a lot about things she’ll do when she’s older. ay ay ay.)
last week, we went to our friend miles’ birthday party. once she came out of her shell, she enjoyed herself. he’s a fan of Woody- of Toy Story fame- and decided to have a cowboy party. yeehaw! we do not have anything at all thematic for this event, so i had to improvise. jovie LOVED her braids!
and, luckily, we went on a playdate in december and inherited someone’s boots. here’s where jovie said i could take a picture of her “because (i) look so cute” and then proceeded to NOT allow a picture: ay ay ay
we have been enjoying unseasonable, yet typically unseasonable georgia weather- where it’s 75d in the middle of february.
The Mr. loves it. I enjoy the feeling of the breezy weather….. but know we will pay dearly for it later. (where it can snow again in march). so while the places he’s been traveling for work has been in the single digits and teens, we’ve already enjoyed our first picnic in our backyard:
other than that, jovie continues to be jovie. she loves to TALK, “read”, be outside, “read”, dance/listen to music, and mostly likes to help out around the house. oh, and she likes to “read”.
The Mr. has taught her how to ‘bus her tray’, and she likes to put other things back where she thinks they go. she has learned the difference b/t her right and left (!!!) and consistently gets it
right correct. just because if she’s antsy in the car, i tell her we’re about to turn left/right and to be on the lookout for it.
she’ll ask us to play with her and when we say “sure! what would you like to play??” her response is almost always “can you read me a story?”
her sense of humor is really starting to develop. she likes to do something silly and say “this is kinda funny!” she also is starting to play with her imagination.
oh, and how could i forget—- she is starting to go for a run like her mommy & daddy do. she’ll pretend to put in her music and start her watch. then she’ll run down the street with us behind her. the other day she ran about 1/2 mile to our friend cheri’s house! she mostly loves to watch her shadow run. i think that’s what keeps her motivated.
she can be rather funny sometimes.
other times, well, she can be jovie. and 2 1/2. and a 2 1/2 year old jovie. ay ay ay
